Worple poets are reading around the UK this June at a number of different festivals and events.
On the weekend of 14th and 15th June both John Greening and Andy Brown read at the Charles Causley Festival in Launceston, Cornwall. Andy will be giving the first reading from his new collection of poems Exurbia (Worple Press), which Stride magazine calls “An exceptional collection of poems… a clever and beautiful book that exhibits mastery of diverse forms.” Andy will also be leading a poetry writing workshop on the Sunday morning before his reading in the afternoon. John Greening reads from his collection To the War Poets (Carcanet Press) as part of the festival’s series of events commemorating the beginning of World War I.
That same weekend, Michael McKimm reads alongside John Wedgewood Clarke at the Bridlington Poetry Festival on the Yorkshire coast. Earlier that week, on Wednesday 11th June, Michael will also be reading at the Vestry House Museum, Walthamstow, London as part of the E17 Art Trail.
Finally, on Saturday 25 June, as part of the National Association for the Teaching of English: Primary Day Conference 2014, Anthony Wilson will give a keynote address on ‘The Power of Poetry”. The conference takes place at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel and Anthony’s talk will be at 2pm.
