Join Michael McKimm, editor of our recent anthology MAP, for a special evening at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, on Thursday 8 October 2015 (National Poetry Day).
MAP celebrates the first geological map of England and Wales, published 200 years ago by the geologist and engineer William Smith. This special event will include readings from the anthology by Philip Gross, Alyson Hallett, John Freeman and Alison Brackenbury, who will also read other poems of their own on the themes of geology, mapping and science.
The event will take place in the Museum gallery, complemented by maps and other exhibits from a new exhibition, Reading the Rocks: the Remarkable Maps of William Smith.
Doors open at 6pm. Tickets cost £5 advance (£7 on the door) and can be booked online or by calling (029) 2023 0130.
There will be copies of the anthology on sale, as well as refreshments.
